Privacy Policy
Last updated August 2026 · Version 2026-08-07
1001526972 Ontario Inc., operating as POURED EVENTS ("POURED," "we," "us," or "our"), an Ontario corporation, respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Ontario law. This Policy explains what we collect, why, how we use and share it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Account information: full name, email address, and password.
- Age and consent: confirmation that you are 19 or older, and your acceptance of our Terms and this Policy (with timestamp and version).
- Profile and professional information: company name, job title, buyer type, and, where applicable, professional or alcohol-service credentials such as Smart Serve certification. Phone number where provided.
- Event activity: tickets purchased, tier, ticket and badge codes, amount paid, event attendance and check-in status, wines you save, tasting notes and ratings you record, orders you place (products, quantities, prices), and exhibitor connections.
- Communications: messages or requests you send us.
Information collected automatically:
- Essential cookies and session data needed to keep you logged in and operate the Platform. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics or marketing cookies or tracking pixels.
Payment information: payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe. Card details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by POURED. We store only references (such as transaction identifiers) needed to manage tickets, refunds, and records.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to: create and manage your account; operate events (ticketing, registration, badges, check-in, ordering); process payments and refunds; communicate with you about events and your account; provide customer support; maintain security and prevent fraud; comply with legal obligations (including age verification and record-keeping); and improve the Platform.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share personal information as follows:
- With event Hosts: when you register for or attend a Host’s event, the Host can see information necessary to run the event — such as your name, email, ticket and registration status, check-in status, and orders placed for their event.
- With exhibitors (order visibility and the "unlock leads" feature): Exhibitors can see the orders placed for their wines — including the products, quantities, and prices — as part of running their part of an event. When an exhibitor unlocks a lead, they additionally receive the attendee’s name, email address, phone number, company, and professional information including job title and any alcohol-service credentials (such as Smart Serve certification). In other words: an exhibitor can see what was ordered before unlocking; unlocking reveals who placed it. By placing an order through the Platform, you understand that your order details are visible to the relevant exhibitor, and that your identity and professional contact information may be disclosed to that exhibitor if they choose to unlock the lead.
- With reps: a rep who invites you may see that you registered under their invitation (your name and company and registration status).
- With service providers who process data on our behalf under contract: Stripe (payment processing), Resend (transactional email delivery), Supabase (authentication and database hosting — see cross-border note in Section 9), Vercel (application hosting and logs), and Shopify (where wine orders are routed to a Host’s store — we send the store the cart contents and quantities; we do not send the store your identity, which the store collects itself at its own checkout).
- For legal reasons: where required by law, to comply with legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Platform.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Consent
By creating an account and using the Platform you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described. Where you provide information about others (for example, a rep inviting a guest, or a Host registering attendees), you represent that you have authority to do so. You may withdraw consent as described in Section 7, subject to legal and contractual limits.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Platform, operate and record events, meet legal and record-keeping obligations (including alcohol-related and financial records), and resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your personal information as described in Section 7, subject to records we must keep by law.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Under PIPEDA you may, subject to legal limits: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your personal information (subject to records we are required to keep); withdraw consent (which may limit your ability to use the Platform); and ask questions or make a complaint about our handling of your information. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@pouredevents.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you have unresolved concerns.
8. Children
The Platform is not directed to anyone under 19. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the legal drinking age. If you believe we have, contact us and we will address it.
9. Data Location
Personal information is stored and processed by our service providers on servers that may be located outside Canada, including in the United States — in particular, our database and authentication provider (Supabase) hosts data in the United States. As a result, your personal information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, including lawful access by their authorities. By using the Platform you acknowledge this cross-border storage.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be communicated (for example, by requiring renewed acceptance). The "Last updated" date reflects the current version.
